50's

In 1949 Giulio Castelli founded a plastic processing company. Kartell started with the production of revolutionary household goods for the material but with a simple design.

The main objective is to infuse a domestic perception of the setting that invites the visitor to discover one by one 10 objects by opening and closing the drawers. The visitor is free to experience the object by touching it, observing it closely and analyzing it in its details.

60's

To Kartell 60's meant improvement and more collaborations with great author of italian design. The progress of technologies have allowed to create more complex shapes.

The main objective is to show the product in its raw state when it leaves the mould. The visitor could discovers the production process through the expositive mode and a video support.

70's

70's had been years of visibility for Kartell that took part in the "Italy The New Domestic Landscape" at the MoMA. New products appeared in the collection, more complex and more accurated.

The main objective is to let the products communicate on their own.

70's doesn't represent a decade of change for Kartell, so, a classic exposition is the best way to explain it.

80's

In the 80's Claudio Luti became the new president of the company, he focused his strategy on the product introducing an unprecedented way to understand materials and surfaces.

The main objective is to illustrate the object in all its production phases, from the idea to the realization. The visitor is totally concentrated in the history of the product thanks to multimedia supports and original documents.
